About the Project

Oso Negro Energy Storage (Oso Negro) is ideally located on approximately 4.5 acres in Albuquerque, New Mexico, within the Western Albuquerque load pocket. The project would connect into the West Mesa substation, which is a critical location where energy demand is highest on the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) electrical system. The battery storage facility will provide capacity and energy services to the PNM electrical grid in Bernalillo County, enhancing grid reliability, making the transmission grid more efficient, and accelerating the integration of renewable energy resources.
